Betsson supports the “My Great Day “Foundation

The "My Great Day" Foundation helps children with serious illnesses to fulfill their greatest wishes. Children who benefit from the Foundations work are between 3-18 years old and live in Sweden. The Foundation facilitates group-activities including camps. The assistance is tailor-made and determined by the individual child’s needs and wishes. The work of the Foundation is entirely carried out by the approximately 125 volunteers. The Foundation is financed though contributions and sponsorships from companies, NGO’s and private persons. The Foundation being a registered charity, its accounts are continuously monitored by an independent body.

It is the Medical officers of the University Hospitals around Sweden that identify the children who are deemed to be in particular need of a “Great day” This special day is a welcome break from the daily hospital routine when days are far too long with often difficult treatments. Imagine the happiness when a child gets to see their favourite artist, ride a motorcycle, get a pony of their own, a much longed for doll or to meet up with their idol.
In 2008, 135 children had their wishes fulfilled. The Foundation facilitated 150 group activities and six camps that provided a well deserved break from hospital to over 1000 children.
When a Great Day is planned, the Foundations work is entirely determined by the child’s wishes. The common effort and planning by the Foundations volunteers, the medical officer in charge, and the child’s family ensure that every child’s Great Day is a huge success.
