Pontus Lindwall appointed CEO from 1 January 1998. Cherry acquires 35% of Net Entertainment AB.

The company's B share listed on the SBI list in Sweden (today's NGM Equity) on 26 March 1996.
In February, the wheels of fortune business was launched. In November, the Swedish parliament passed a resolution forbidding wheels of fortune from 1 January 1997.

Cherry acquires Casino Invest in Umeå, thereby strengthening its position in Northern Sweden and Gothenburg.

Cherry acquires a number of Swedish commercial gaming companies and finances the acquisitions with a new share issue. The foundation for a new corporation is created.

The Swedish parliament bans slot machines and subsequently the foundation of the Cherry’s operations disappears in the course of a month. A comprehensive reorganisation starts.

The new legislation enables licensed restaurants to sell wine and provide slot machines with winnings payable in Swedish kronor.
