Betsson Group has been recognised as a leading employer in the iGaming industry, securing Gold for European Employer of the Year at the SBC Awards Europe 2026, held on 30 April 2026 in Malta. The awards celebrate excellence across the European sports betting and gaming sector, recognising top-performing operators, affiliates, suppliers, payments providers, and game developers. 

In addition to this honour, Betsson Group also received three silver awards: Socially Responsible Initiative of the Year, Casino Operator of the Year, and Sportsbook Operator of the Year. These recognitions highlight Betsson’s commitment not only to delivering high-quality gaming experiences, but also to operating responsibly and sustainably while maintaining its strength in casino and sportsbook verticals. 

These achievements reflect Betsson’s continued focus on employee engagement, sustainability, and commercial success, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining high industry standards. 

During the same week, Betsson Group also actively participated in the SBC Summit Malta 2026 agenda: 

  • Donald Tabone, Chief Information Security Officer, highlighted how cybersecurity has evolved into a business-critical issue in iGaming.  
  • Myriah Abela, Head of Data Privacy, explored AI, regulation, and responsibility, with a focus on player protection and transparency.  
  • Jonna Danlund, Director of ESG, spoke about responsible gaming as a core pillar of sustainability.  
  • Aurora Merino Salas, Director of Compliance, addressed regulatory challenges and market competitiveness.  
  • Janick Bonnici, Principal Gaming Content Manager, shared insights on the future of slots and casino content strategy.
