After joining the company five years ago in Georgia, Mariam has explored different areas of the business – from Customer Support to VIP Management – before finding her passion in marketing. Today, as Content and Events Manager at Betsson Georgia, she plays a key role in bringing the brand to life through creative storytelling, impactful content and memorable events.

In this interview, Mariam shares her career journey, the challenging but exciting projects that have defined her experience so far, and what it’s like to work at Betsson Group.

Tell us about yourself

I am Mariam Parkosadze, Content and Events Manager at Betsson Georgia. My journey here began five years ago, when we operated on the Georgian market under the name Europebet. Since then, I’ve grown professionally, taken on several roles, and aligned my career with the work that brings me the greatest joy.

How would you describe your role as Content and Events Manager in three words?

Collaborative, creative, and impactful.

These three words best capture the essence of my role today.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything I do. My work constantly involves partnering with different teams, external partners and event collaborators. Whether we are planning campaigns, producing content, or organising events, strong teamwork is what allows ideas to grow and turn into successful projects.

Creativity is equally important. In content and event management, it’s essential to find fresh ways to tell stories, engage audiences, and present the brand in an authentic and exciting way.

And finally, Impact. What makes this role truly rewarding is seeing the tangible results of our work, whether it’s through audience engagement, successful events, or content that resonates with people.

How has your career evolved at Betsson?

Betsson is my very first job and my initial introduction to a corporate environment. When I started, I had limited knowledge of the iGaming industry, but that quickly changed as I gained experience.

I initially joined the Customer Support department, where I spent a year and a half. This role taught me the most, both professionally and personally. Communicating directly with customers is the best way to truly understand the field you work in; it gave me a complete overview of the industry where I was building my career. Most importantly, I discovered that I truly enjoyed helping people and providing high-quality service.

Next, I moved to the Commercial department as a VIP Manager where I spent another year and a half. This position allowed me to deepen my knowledge even further.

Throughout this entire period, I knew exactly where I wanted my path to lead. My goal was to join my dream team: marketing. While working, I began studying marketing and eventually achieved my goal, becoming the Content and Events Manager for the Betsson Georgia marketing team.

Tell us about a key project in your career. What were some of the challenges and what were some of the successes?

The most outstanding yet challenging day of my career was 16th May of last year – the day we rebranded to Betsson and launched the Legends Series dedicated to this event.

It was crazy, we were working at an intense pace as two very important events were happening simultaneously. Despite the challenges, we managed to complete the rebrand flawlessly. On that same day, we also successfully hosted the Barcelona Legends at the Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi, bringing together iconic players, including Ronaldinho.

This was the first time I truly experienced the company’s scale in action. Together with an exceptional marketing team, I was interviewing football legends and creating engaging content in real time. On that day, I experienced everything that anyone connected to marketing and sports could ever dream of.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I never really have a “typical” workday, and that’s exactly what I enjoy most about my role. Every day feels like a new adventure. Even though we work with structured plans, something new always comes up, which keeps things exciting and never lets the work turn into routine.

Part of my role involves working closely with the HR department to support and properly position our employer brand through meaningful and engaging content.

From a marketing perspective, my daily responsibilities include keeping track of our sponsorship activities, creating and distributing high-quality content tailored to our brand across different channels. I’m also involved in organising various photoshoots and productions, planning marketing events together with my team, and participating in the entire execution process from start to finish.

How do you handle pressure during peak campaign periods?

People who don’t have close exposure to marketing often think that this field is all about fun and creativity, with nothing particularly stressful about it. It’s quite different. As I mentioned earlier, every day brings something new, which naturally means new challenges as well. Working in this environment requires the ability to solve multiple issues in a very short amount of time, stay focused under pressure, and make sure that despite any obstacles, plans are executed successfully.

However, dealing with this pressure becomes much easier when you are surrounded by highly professional people. Teamwork is truly what helps me the most during demanding periods. I know that at any moment, any of my colleagues is ready to step in and offer full support.

What exciting projects are you currently working on?

Considering the season, many of our recent sponsorship activities have been connected to winter sports. Just last month, together with Red Bull, we organised a traditional skiing championship in one of Georgia’s most remarkable locations, Mestia. Over the coming months, we have several more exciting events planned together.

At the same time, preparations have already started for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. During the tournament, Betsson Group will deliver some of the best sports content on the Georgian market through the Betsson.sport YouTube channel.

How would you describe the team culture at Betsson Georgia?

For me, the most important factor in any workplace is the environment and the culture. At Betsson, this culture has been built and developed over many years. It’s a place where the company’s core values are not just words, but something you genuinely experience in your everyday work. It’s an incredibly rewarding feeling to realise that you work for one of the best employers on the market.

Here, people are always ready to support one another. We truly know how to stand side by side as One Betsson.

What advice would you give to someone interested in joining Betsson?

My advice is simple: if you ever get the opportunity to become part of this team, don’t hesitate, consider yourself very lucky. And once you’re here, never stop developing. Betsson is a place that truly supports your growth. Every new skill you learn opens another door for your development.
